This anime was a great watch. I don't care what anyone say about this series. It was good. The plot and characters are a bit flat but the show is easy to follow. This type of anime is a sit back and relax. You don't need to be hanging on to every word or focus to understand what is happening. It is good series to watch while you doing dishes or folding laundry. A quick but entertaining series. After a long day of work, school or mental/emotional baggage throw this anime on and sink into the couch with a bowl of ice-cream.

BNA: Brand New Animal

  • 1 Season, 10 Episodes

  • Genre: Action, Super Power, Fantasy

Throughout history, humans have been at odds with Beastmen—a species capable of changing shape due to their genetic "Beast Factor." Because of this conflict, Beastmen have been forced into hiding. Anima City serves as a safe haven for these oppressed individuals to live free from human interference. Michiru Kagemori, a human who suddenly turned into a tanuki, finds that Anima City is a far cry from paradise.

First off and foremost, I am not a furry and no hate to furry community! Lol! This show is a fun and enjoyable ride. The art style is so colorful and bright it is pleasing to the eye. The characters follow that a cliche of having a charismatic and upbeat character alongside the serious and expresso depresso character. However, it makes the show. The contrast is nice and funny. This is a show that will surprise you when you start watching it!

*Castlevania

*Viewer discretion Advised

  • 4 Seasons, 10 Episodes, Rated R

  • Genre: Drama, Dark fantasy, Action, Horror

When his wife is burned at the stake, Count Dracula summons an army of demons to overrun the country. Few raise arms against the count and his army, monster hunter Trevor Belmont, the magician Sypha Belnades and Dracula's dhampir son Alucard.

So, if you know me in real life then you know I have a slight obsession with vampires and adore the occults. So, of course I had to watch Castlevania. Castlevania is based off a gothic horror action-adventure video game. Remember, this show is for adults so the dark tones, the gore, and the crass characters is spectacular. In this series, we follow our trio as they try to restore balance to civilization from the vampire forces that have shrouded the world in darkness. What makes this anime a great watch is the dialogue between the characters. It is cold, harsh and at times comedic. One of my favorite scenes is season one, episode four, the first 10 minutes on the show. The dialogue between the priest and the demon was tense and phenomenal in my opinion. Furthermore, the characters design and the scenery truly add to the despair within the world. The plot is simple and easy to understand. Overall, this is a great anime to check out. Don't forget to leave a comment with your thoughts.

Carole & Tuesday

  • 2 Season, 10 Episodes

  • Genre: Music, Sci-Fi, Drama, Slice of Life

Carole, a young girl working part-time by day and playing keyboard by night. Tuesday a rich young girl runs away to pursue music with her acoustic guitar. After a fateful encounter, the two decide to perform music together. Will hard work and luck be enough? Experience the amazing journey of friendship and music.

If you like the anime Cowboy Bebop or Space Dandy, then you will enjoy this anime. This anime is a Jazz based anime with a futuristic twist. These young girls follow their dreams and try to pursue a career in the music industry. Being that the music industry is a very competitive and “cut-throat” atmosphere, our young protagonists have their work cut out for them. As these two unlikely characters learn about each other and rely on each other in order to make it in music industry. Moreover, the music is catchy and captivating. The songs capture the struggles, turmoil and many more emotions the characters are going through. As you watch this anime and listen to the songs you find yourself swaying and fixated on the screen. You’ll be yearning for more as you watch the series. This is anime you will not be disappointed in starting.

*Devilman Crybaby

*Viewer Discretion advised

  • 1 Season, 10 Episodes, Rated R

  • Genre: Action, Dementia, Demons, Horror, Supernatural

Devils cannot take form without a living host. However, if the will of an individual is strong enough, they can overcome the demon and make its power their own, becoming a Devilman.

When this series came out, I was excited to watch it. I am a fan of the Devilman Franchise. I was introduced to the series through the anime Devil Lady which was released in the late 90s. With the revitalization of this series, thanks to the Devilman Crybaby, it had brought a lot of attention to the franchise. When watching this series, I found it to have good pacing throughout the entire story. This series didn't have those unnecessary dips, and it managed to push through to the end. Concluding in a satisfying way, which many shows nowadays fail to do. The characters had their own dynamic relationship and fueled the story. Overall, this is a series is a rollercoaster ride. So be prepared for all the ups and downs. Reminder this series is not for everyone, and it is rated R for a reason. Shit gets weird! Don't forget to watch with headphones in and door closed!

The Seven Deadly Sins

  • 5 Seasons, 24 Episodes + 1 OVA, 2 Movies

  • Genre: Action, Comedy, Adventure, Ecchi, Fantasy, Magic, Shounen, Supernatural

The feared yet revered Holy Knights of Britannia use immensely powerful magic to protect the region of Britannia. However, the Knights betrayed their homeland and turned their blades against their comrades to overthrow the ruler of Liones. Defeated by the Seven Deadly Sins. Ten years later, the Holy Knights themselves staged a coup d’état, and thus became the new, tyrannical rulers of the Kingdom of Liones.

Seven Deadly Sins is a good series. Given I'm only halfway done with season 3, I rated this show a solid B-. I love all the characters but Meliodas. Don't get me wrong he's OP but there is something about him that just don't float my boat. The series does a fantastic job of balancing out the comedic and action scenes within the anime. The character backgrounds really allow you to see how these characters have developed and changed throughout the series. One fault of the show is the Ecchi scenes. In all honesty, it is so unnecessary, and I feel like it takes away from the show. The female characters are already beautiful and sexy but adding the "sexual harassment" and groping of the female characters is really off putting. That aside, Seven Deadly Sins is a show you should check out.

*Kakegurui

*Viewer Discretion advised

  • 2 seasons, 10 Episodes,*Rated M for Mature

  • Genre: Game, Mystery, Psychological, Drama, School, Shounen

Hyakkaou Private Academy a prestigious school for the elite prepares them for the real world. In reality, it is cesspool for gambling and manipulation. Money is power; those who come out on top in the games stand at the top of the school.

This show is not for everyone. There are a few scenes in this anime that sensitive or triggers for some so viewer discretion is advised. I personally enjoyed this series and found it very entertaining. Given at face value this series is not spectacular nor does it have character depth or complexity. It is a show about gambling. However, it does not fall show of keeping the viewer entertained. Don't get me wrong the show is simple and predictable when it comes to the protagonist. However, the animations, the charism and craziness of the characters make the show. Many may disagree with my opinion but who cares. As long as the viewer enjoys it then it's a good anime. We don't watch anime to please people, but we watch because we like.

Violet Evergarden

  • 1 Season, 10 Episodes + 1 Special, 1 Movie

  • Genre: Tragedy, Drama, Slice of Life, Fantasy

Violet Evergarden was abandoned as a child and raised as a solider. After a ten-year long war comes to an end, Violet must reenter and readjust to civilian life. Follow Violet on this heartwarming journey of self-discovery.

I love Violet Evergarden! I personally love this series through and through. The animation and the story are phenomenal in my personal opinion. I was captivated from the first episode until the last episode. This series caused a variety of emotions evoked from me, from tears, to anger and to laughter. This is a series you will not be disappointed in starting!
