As we all know that the anime industry predominately has characters of the lighter skin variety and lacks a bit of melatonin. We all know how much fun adding a bit of seasoning can spice up any dish. So here are some flavorful, and spicy characters.
Kaname Tōsen
Series: Bleach
Kaname Tōsen was the captain of the 9th Division of the Gotei 13 until he betrayed Soul Society, alongside Sōsuke Aizen and Gin Ichimaru. Tōsen's creed in life is to "take the path with the least bloodshed"; it was for this reason that he felt it necessary to follow Aizen. Which was ironic to say at least. Tōsen is a man once he sets his beliefs onto something then he will peruse it. A cold-hearted man who will do what is required of him even if it means sacrificing another person.
Yoruichi Shihoin
Series: Bleach
Yoruichi Shihoin is the former captain of the 2nd Division of the Gotei 13, as well as the former commander of the Stealth Force (Onmitsukidō). Now this woman is not only strong, but she has the charisma to swoon you. As a former captain of Stealth Force Yoruichi was a powerful force to be reckoned with. Even after she left the Soul Society her skills did not dull. She is one of my favorite characters in the Bleach series and I’m sure she will be yours as well.
Atsuko Jackson
Series: Michiko to Hatchin
Atsuko is a policewoman who lived in the same orphanage as Michiko Malandro, who seems to have a score to settle with her. Although, Atsuko has qualms about her childhood frienemy (Michiko), she helps her out in dire situations. Atsuko is very strong willed, which can come off as her being very cold. However, she has a good conscience, pitting her against Michiko.
Michiko Malandro
Series: Michiko to Hatchin
Michiko Malandro is a convict who fled from prison in search for Hatchin. Is a feisty convict. She is a wild spirit who demonstrates childish behaviors. Michiko is loud and constantly the center of attention where she goes which can be a good and bad thing. A woman who isn't afraid to get in someone's face and tell them off. however, that hard exterior is only to protect her heart of gold. Yes, Michiko may not be great person, but she is caring to those around her.
Afro Samurai
Series: Afro Samurai
Afro is an incredibly talented swordsman whose witnessed his father’s death in front of him. Yes, his name is Afro. Afro swears to avenge his father’s death and strong samurai. Afro was once a happy child but that changed when his father was killed, he is now a quiet, stern, and serious person with only his mission in mind.
Rumi Usagiyama
Series: My Hero Academia
Rumi is a pro hero in the My Hero Academia world. Rumi is tough and speaks her mind, even if it causes confrontation. One of her best qualities is how she takes everything head on, even life-death situations with the best of her abilities. Her personality and strength make her a force to reckoned with. She is one bad bitch!
Dorothy
Series: The Great Pretenders
Dorothy is a con artist. Leading a life of crime, she is a charismatic and confident woman who takes great pride in her skills as well as her achievements. She is also extroverted, smart, and never shows any hint of shyness. Dorothy is such a lovable character it hard for you to hate her.
Canary
Series: Hunter x Hunter
Canary is an apprentice butler of the Zoldyck Family. Anyone attempting to pass her post on the estate will be expelled via force. A loyal butler to the Zoldyck but especially Killua. We see her go to extreme length to maintain her loyalty but she isn’t heartless.
Killer B
Series: Naruto
Killer B is a shinobi from the Village Hidden in the Clouds and the jinchūriki of the Eight-Tails. Killer B is one of more eccentric characters in the series. He is a confident person with a stubborn side. The overconfidence coupled with his eccentric behavior makes him an enjoy character to watch. He provides the comedic relief but can be serious when he needs to be. One of my favorite character in the Naruto Series.
Dutch
Series: Black Lagoon
Dutch is the leader of the Lagoon Trading Company. Dutch heads the negotiations and leads his team during missions. He is a mysterious and private man. We hardly know much about Dutch’s past, but one thing is for sure he is a certified bad ass. We watch Dutch take charge and be the reason for his mercenary crew. He is man of few words but when he does speak it pure wisdom. So shut up and listen
